I would suggest that your "guess" is probably good for the support but way off on the non-support. My "guess" is that a heck of a lot more than 2% of our nation would be more than willing to cut the financial ties and let Israel fend for itself, which by the way it is more than capable of doing.

No, my guess is 5% strongly favor US support of Israel, 2% strongly favor Israel's removal from the planet, and the rest of the American population is more concerned with their local NBA team than with Israel. So, yeah, when their US politician comes along and says "After ~25 of US financial support and little to show for it, we're pulling US resources back home from Israel and Egypt in order to build you a hospital,"

5% scream NO!,
2% scream IT'S ABOUT TIME!, and
93% say 'why were we sending all that money over there in the first place instead of building a local hospital?'
