At least one side of me is paasionate about social issues but i did run into the libertarians like Reagan folks in the 70s and 80s, particularly on eco issues and i converted like the Chinese also did about the same time.. Hell capitalism works, just not evenly and folks gotta work at it. Thats what the welfare statist leftists hate most about capitalism--it asks the downtrodden to work as in Arbeit Mach Frei--a very true phrase corrupted by the nazis. As for iraq, i too cry for the iraqis with the blue thumbs and for the ones getting blown up each day. That election was no sham. Iraq had a shot, perhaps not as good as i originaly thought but Chaingang Cheney screwed that up along with the islamist fascists and just plain thugs. US makes messes wherever it goes but no one else goes anywhere so the world has us for better or worse. In retrospect i guess we shouldnt have broken humpty and jsut concentrated on bin. But that type of thought tells us to forget about darfur too. Aint it interesting how the left wants US intervention in Darfur until the first casusualty of course.
