>>I know - no way to tell. But still interesting. And curious minds need to know.

Could be the standard, "somebody knows something". :-)

Considering the current issue for MNTA there are lots of possibilities to "know something".

What if Amphastar has been told by the FDA that they are not going to be approved. Since it is a private company they would not have to announce it. Would that info be insider info so as to prohibit trading on it? Just guessing but I think not.

TEVA likewise could know that they are not going to be approved. I would think they would need to make an announcement unless it was not material - which for them it might not be.

Volatility surface is unusually flat - so no indication of any binary event is showing up in the pricing. Puts are a little more expensive than calls, so a small hint of a short squeeze perhaps.

Perhaps it's just the shorts running for cover as the momentum builds against them.

Be interesting to see where the next series of options trade on Monday.

Interesting - I was short some April 12.5 callss which I had rolled way out and up to gain more stock exposure (to Sept 17.5s) - I did the roll flat a week or so ago. Well, the short April 12.5s are clearly trading near delta of 1.0 but the value of my short Sept 17.5s is HIGHER than the April 12.5 price, indicating a delta move of >1 as the vol reset way higher.

The volatilities on the options are way down. Not near lows, but still way down from last week. Still can't figure out why the bump in volatilities occurred last year.
