The student came here-- think it was 15 years ago----about 1992.

Well since I have lived in Northern Virginia/Washington D.C. metro area of which Centreville is a part for a long enough time to understand the population growth of this area------I have no problem with talking about a persons race.

This area takes in many immigrants. The one segment of the immigrants that have in general integrated very well into society here in the metro area are the South Koreans. My first reaction when I learned he was originally from South Korea--------was to ask what happened to him to cause him to kill his fellow students. It is not in keeping with the people that I know who came here from South Korea.

That is still a question I am asking.

I do think the AAJA is on the wrong track on this-----they are actually hightlighting that fact rather than let it be.

If the young man had lived and left the campus with a man-hunt ensuing would they still be objecting to describing his race?

<<Hey, I have a Hotel full of South Koreans next to me. Should I worry about incoming?>>

If I was you, I'd worry more about people from Fairfax, Va. where this warped kid grew up. That place produces some weird laws and people.

I don't believe that race played any part in the shootings. People are people and it can be proven that regardless of race, some are wacked and can and will kill other people. I don't know if he had a chemical imbalance or was a misanthrope, but I do know neither affliction favors one race over another.

I'm really kind of sick of the race thing, and just wish that everyone would understand that we are all humans with human strengths and human frailties. The sooner we all accept that reality, the better. With all of our inherent prejudices, I don't expect it to happen though.

I understand the Ambassador from SK has apologized to the families etc..
