Yes, the NRA does promote machine-guns, they would love to pass new laws making fully automatic weapons with banana and drum magazines like we use in battle perfectly legal.

Any restrictions on weapons ownership and use the NRA protests. Why? Profits. They are the gun lobby and these high-powered automatic weapons are their top of the line items which they make huge profits from. And it really doesn't concern them at all who might get killed or wounded as a result.

What happened in Virginia was a mentally disturbed college kid with no criminal record was able to buy a Glock 9 and extra clips with only an instant criminal background check. But what about a psychiatric check or a political check? If he was a terrorist extremist or someone with severe mental problems, why wasn't that in the data-base? Apparently those who knew him at VT knew he was nuts. So why should this kid get a weapon? And what are we doing letting kids buy weapons in the first place? We should at least make them pass a course like we do before we let them drive a car.
