Honestly, the NRA should be broken into three parts: The GUN LOBBY - which is their main component - which is legally allowed to lobby for weapons sales. But they should be called the NAWA - or National Automatic Weapons Association. Rifles are not their issue. No one has an issue with hunting rifles. The GUN SAFETY SCHOOL - which you need to graduate from before you can get a weapon. Including psychiatric examination. The RIGHTWING EXTREMIST ORG. - Those dedicated to the overthrown of the US government by violent means, and for keeping down minorities and glorifying the white race. This is the third component of the NRA.

It could be worse. All guns could be made illegal thus creating a black market with absolutely no rules. We've done that with other things and problems have gotten worse.
