Rightwing extremist groups are filled with dangerous nut cases. and the NRA is the biggest such group. It included Timothy McVeigh after all. Which is why the NRA protects and shields the insane, deluded, paranoid, ultra-radical and schitzo types. They don't want mental stability checks or waiting periods. They grudgingly agree with criminal background checks mostly because blacks and latinos are much more likely to have criminal records because they don't get off like most white people do.
