I found several reports on this. One added the additional information that a student had been injured trying to wash his feet in the hand basins. Because this college serves the adult community, it is mandated to be especially accommodating, as they really want to make adults returning to school to feel comfortable.

None of the other reports is consistent with the language found in the Semmens blog. All the language is about being "welcoming" and student safety- the safety of the students washing their feet, that is. I could not find a single other website which had the language Semmens had- even though I toured some rather rabid anti-Muslim sites. They would have put the language in to their articles, had it been true. I think that's fairly obvious.

OK, I think I can settle this.

I just read another article by this Semmens-- apparently he believes he is quite the witty satirist.
In a story about the Duke lacrosse team and Nifong, he "quotes" Nifong:

Nifong defended his actions, saying he based his case on both history and instinct. “Look, white men have been raping black women for centuries,” Nifong explained. “If President Jefferson did it, why should I doubt that these college punks would do it? Why, I was tempted to do it myself when she reenacted the dance she did at the team’s party. My gut told me they were guilty. I just didn’t have enough time to produce the evidence I needed to complete the case.”

This seems to be a case of mistaking poor tacky humor for truth.
