I don't agree, at least not if you mean that statement to be universally correct. Its better for countries to trade and buy from more efficient producers. The US exports as well as imports.


The US imports much more than it exports. Every impartial economist would agree that a flat trade balance is the goal, and that our trade balance is very problematic. Some believe it will lead to economic disaster (when not if).

Did you read what I said in my post? Why are you arguing against what I didn't say?

I said: It is in our best interests to use domestic products/services even if the costs are incrementally higher. If the prices are a lot higher, it's probably better to use non-US sources. Unless the product/service involves a security issue and using non-US sources has hidden risk/cost.
