Everytime we get something like this, the same descriptions come out.

Part of it is because it's what we've come to expect. Eugene Robinson, the Washington Post columnist, made an interesting comments in this regard on Tucker Carolson's show this afternoon. He watched a gaggle of reporters interviewing students who lived in the "subjects" dorm. They labored mightily to get students to offer the classic symptom descriptions such as, "would you describe him as . . . . . "

In addition, I suspect there is more than one piece of research out there which argues that the likelihood of violent attacks coming from folk others would describe as classic loners, is no greater than that from the general population. Haven't seen it. But it's such an obvious topic. No doubt there are social psych grad students in the large numbers doing such.
