I think you may have taken that out of context. Looks to me like Ms. Bair was saying that investors and servicers need some tough love:

"I think we should hold the servicers' and investors' feet to the fire on this," Ms. Bair said. "It was clear to investors that these were high risk. I think everybody needs to share the pain now."

There actually seems to be very little love for the lenders and investors at this point - except from Wall Street of course.

In particular, why do those who (prudently) chose to not engage in irresponsible borrowing (perhaps by continuing to rent) now have to pay for the Carlton Sheets wannabes? Or the idiots on "Flip this Home"? Nice message to send our young people, by the way....
