It's worth figuring out whether or not they're actually unreasonable.

It is possible to minimize the occurrence of horrific acts... keep in mind that we have thousands of times the number of murders every year that a lot of other industrialized countries do. Why is that? It's worth figuring out, no?

Seems insane to spend time to find a reason for why someone went off their rocker. You're trying to use your mind to get inside theirs. Unless you become them, you don't know jack.

Right. Forget that he fits the profile of people who commit these horrific acts. Forget that we are getting better at understanding the mindset that leads to this kind of act. Simply keep your head in the sand and everything will be just peachy keen.
