Besides, you've got entire legions of "food scientists" working for the processed food industry devising crap we just can't say no to. Their focus and experimental groups tell them so. They go after the kids the hardest.

For Americans, it's like having scientists devising better, more addictive heroin..

Animals will eat fat and protein and feel satiated. If you try and feed them on highly processed carbs with a nice dollop of fats to really add the calories then they become obese. They turn into, well, us.

Feed them a diet with fats-proteins and high quality carbs and they stay much healthier and aren't hungry all the time so they don't overeat.

The beef industry understands this very well. Cows would normally eat grasses with some grains. If you want to fatten a beef cow from (if I remember correctly) artificially from 80 lbs to 1400 lbs in about a year, you feed it grains.

Animals don't have to have the associations, they eat what we feed them and then they, too, become addicted. IMO, I think this is reasonably well understood by a minority of people in the health care industry but the industry caters to sickness and disease, not to health.

If you can get the heck off of sugar, white flour, excess fructose and highly processed garbage then you can get back to craving real food. IMO if Americans can't get off of these things we're going to simply sink the country from the weight.
