Switzerland?
All military-age adults are REQUIRED to have a gun (supplied by the gov't) and ammunition (also supplied by the gov't and counted at regular intervals) and yet they have one of the lowest gun violence rates in the WORLD! Take THAT to the 'center' and post it!

In the Bahamas, guns are totally banned except for the military and police and yet they have one of the HIGHEST rates of gun violence. Lot of good their laws do, wouldn't you say?

As far as 'adult' or 'kid', THAT would be decided by a judge, were he alive.

I repeat, surely you and Lucky aren't arguing I was wrong (about his being unhinged - mentally deranged) and Bill's political motive theory was right because I called him a kid and he's an adult. Are you?

Your sense of self-importance certainly causes you to infer arguments that were never stated. In fact, even the way you framed it is nonsensical (or to borrow your favored language, should I say *ridiculous*.)

The killer was not a kid, he was an adult. The reason the *kid* reference was mentioned is because there is a tendency to diminish the act by making the perp a victim. Referring to him as a kid reinforces that. In a situation involving firearms, it plays into the usual memes of gun control advocates, e.g., we have to *save the children* by banning guns.

As for "You are sounding more and more like the self-important, pseudo-intellectuals who frequent the alleged *center*", maybe we're getting to the heart of the problem. Did I step off the reservation by posting over there? By daring to disagree with the group gun rights consensus that "more guns will make us safer"? Sorry, mph. I generally respect your views, but when I disagree with someone here I'm not going to hesitate to say so just to fit in. And when I see people here whose views I also generally respect and agree with (except for longnshort, of course) spouting conspiracy theories and partisan nonsense I'm going to call it conspiracy theories and partisan nonsense. If that makes you want to call me names, so be it.

You've been calling people names, or at least labelling them with all the pejorative terms you could muster, for two days, so I hardly think you're in a position to complain about name-calling. I could care less upon which reservations you choose to post or even what opinions you might hold. My observation had to do with the manner in which you were expressing yourself, which was of the highly condescending mode employed by the alleged centrists. I particularly don't appreciate being labelled *ridiculous* by someone like that.
