"calling him a kid ... you can't handle ... your extensive experience in the medical field ... to argue in favor of gun control ... ending this discussion ... [NOT] ... smart ass comments ... get over it ..."

1) You're STILL hung up on the word 'kid' as if his being an adult gives him a political motive. Can you explain that or are you just nitpicking my word choice because you have no relevant argument to offer?

2) I don't give a damn if you call him an adult. His adulthood isn't relevant to motive in this case. Is it?

3) I don't need to be a psychiatrist to see that a college kid who leaves deranged notes about the 'debauchery' of 'rich kids' and 'charlatans' to justify a shooting rampage that killed 33 people, beginning with a girl who was either his ex or his stalking target, and ending with himself was 'unhinged.' Do you really think there's any chance he was mentally stable?

3') 'Unhinged' and 'deranged' are not legal terms either. I am not even implying, much less asserting, an insanity defense so before you pick that nit, don't.

4) I'm not "hanging on to [any] notion" to make a case for gun control. You and I haven't even discussed gun control - you've been too busy nitpicking over the word kid. And I was responding to Bill's "political motive" assertion when you jumped in with your pointless nitpicking of the word kid.

4') But since you brought it up, it is doubtful that any modest gun controls such as waiting periods or background checks can catch situations like this because prior to the shootings and certainly when he bought the guns weeks earlier he had apparently not committed any crime or threatened anyone, and as the report I cited earlier explained, experts in cases such as this say that it is virtually impossible to identify these perpetrators in advance through any kind of psychological profiling.

4'') If you'd read the news, you'd know that even the Democratic leadership knows this and have expressed doubts that this tragedy makes a case for tighter gun controls. An no, use of the word 'tragedy' here is not some kind of librul blame shifting, so before you try to play that card again, don't. Try looking the word up instead.

5) If you want to end an argument, either have a valid and relevant point or just quit. Saying "I'm ending this discussion here" 3/4 of the way through an argumentative post is nothing more than a weak assed attempt to get the last word. Continuing on for several more lines of nonsense after you say that is just funny.
