yes, that did happen, but only because spain effectively 'printed' by stealing and robbing from s.america, but did not have enough goods to meet the demand generated by the serendipitous gold find in such enormous quantity ... a whole continent of gold for one insignificant backwater of a country ... the gold find in effect blew up spain in time, and condemned it to 2 centuries of backwaterdom, ending only recently
