Which brings me back to Mr. Obama. I believe that what has propelled his candidacy up to now — more than anything — is that many Americans have projected onto him their hunger for community, their hunger for a president with the voice, instincts and moral authority to make it so much harder for foreigners to be anti-American or for Americans to be anti-one-another.

That's what Obama is for me...... a hunger for community and moral authority. If you had told me seven years that I would be considering leaving this country, I would have told you that you're crazy. After all, I have been to other countries.....spent a summer in Europe....knew there were alternatives but still preferred the US. That was before 2000. That's how much Bush has affected me and my attitudes. So, yeah, Obama is a desperately needed breath of fresh air. That's not to say that Richardson, Clinton and Edwards aren't good people but they don't satisfy my hunger like Obama does.
