WTH is wrong with ME? This guy was able to purchase handguns (which someone here said would have been classified as 'assault' if they had certain modifications - don't know if that is right) even though he was clearly a wacko. No background check, was there even a waiting period?

We make no attempt, it seems, to keep these guns out of the hands of those who shouldn't have them - the mentally ill.

The problem is that whatever background checks are being done now are obviously not working. I don't understand why legitimate, sane gun owners wouldn't want a stricter background check, one that they would pass easily but that would stop lunatics like Cho from getting guns.

The other end of the 'hole' is obviously between the professors who recognized his problems and a means of getting him identified as a possibly psycho case. That end of the hole needs to also be plugged.

If both ends are dealt with, we'll continue to have armed lunatics and cases like this...
