Chancels - I'm very confused as to the point of your argument.

Fact: In 1998 the wealthiest 5% of Americans owned 59% of the nation's wealth.

Yet, you find it shocking that nation's wealthiest 5% of the population pay as much as 45% of the taxes! You think it might be as high as 55%, but you're not sure.

Are you shocked that:

a.) the wealthiest 5% of Americans are paying less than their equal share, or;

b.) simply shocked that wealth is that concentrated in America?

You feel those who own 59% of the wealth should have their share of taxes capped at a lower figure than 45%. How much lower should it be?

How much more are you willing to pay in taxes in order to subsidize the wealthiest 5%?

Are you sure you're playing with a full deck of cards?

Perhaps you're a professional stooge, one who allows himself to be used for another's profit or advantage; a puppet.
