He wrote a travelogue on the same subject which is no doubt more informative. The Power and the Glory is the only Graham Greene I've read, a situation I aim to remedy.

An old timer who is really into Graham Greene (one of his most prized possessions is a hand written letter from him, which he framed) told me The Power and the Glory is probably his greatest book. The whiskey priest is certainly a memorable character.
