JLA, you and I both know there were a dozen ways the Justice Department could have made such a statement without causing this blowup. Here are a few phrases that woudl have worked, IF they had to say anything at all (which they did not).

1. "Moving in a New Direction".

2. "Refocusing our Commitment in the Second Term"

3. "Offering opportunies to exceptional candidates while allowing our serving U.S. Attorneys to explore exciting new opportunities".

4. "No comment".
