John, the medical care at Walter Reed was outsourced a few years ago, not run by the govt.

I just posted about the outsourcing problem at Reed. I've been following that, because my grandfather's VA health care went down hill really fast over the last few years.

Bill, you are conflating two issues.

I was responding your your "two issue" post. I mentioned Walter Reed as an example of single payer medical care. If you don't like that example, try medical care run by the Post Office. All Government programs end up as the same kind of bureaucracy. Generic. It's the nature of the beast.

You then ignored my comparison of decreased costs of the present program due to competition vs the VA formulary that ends up only including older drugs when you price control.

This has got nothing to do with "right" vs "left." It is the factual, observable result from two different programs. The present one I am willing to put up with, the other which you and the Dems want to put into practice.

That was the thrust of the post. Can't understand why you ignored it.
