The few times I was on a landing ship in training, I never thought that chow was much to talk about. Actually, when we were ashore, we ate pretty well and always had more than enough. Even when we were in the field for training, the field chow wasn't bad either, just uncomfortable.

They obviously weren't ever fed the "Green Ham and Eggs" or the "Chili-con-capillary" or even the bright-pink hot dogs! ;-)
