CFC: Any idea why this POS is back to climbing? It's happening at the same time that the estimates are falling here:

finance.yahoo.com

Could it be that this one is setting up for a pretty big earnings miss? Or are the analysts getting phone calls in the night to make sure that CFC "beats by a penny"?

Seriously, I can't understand how the analysts are still forecasting $4.00 this year and expect to keep their jobs...

Nevermind - now I see it's Cramer.

There Goes the Shorts' Thesis

By Jim Cramer

About this article:
The market's just not buying the subprime meltdown theory anymore. But the hedge funds, which exist to have "core" shorts, are just now getting the message that lowered expectations coupled with decent earnings produce some pretty dramatic moves. I have been talking to shorts today about Washington Mutual and how it wasn't such a hot quarter. To which I say, "But it wasn't the China Syndrome quarter that the shorts thought it would be. Nor was Wachovia's quarter, which astonished with that fabulous move, taking Golden West. That was supposed to lead to a travesty." Now, with the possibility that all of the fraudulent players are gone and with the possibility of sudden margin expansion upon the group, you have to believe that anyone who was considering buying a Countrywide before but feared losses has to be incredibly excited about the possibility of buying it now. When capacity...

So, the quarter was better than expectations, so let's go buy the trash. Nevermind engaging the cerebral cortex and thinking about what's coming *next* quarter, or next year for that matter.

For chrissakes, I just want a recession to shut up that moron. I guess the people love him because he understands the criminals so well. I long for the day that the market has its way with him and he is absolutely discredited.
