I have a lot of SJT and HGT and the K-1's are no big deal. To take full advantage of the depletion allowance it gets more complicated. I have quit trading them because it is much easier for the CPA if you hold the same number of shares all year. Although I am a trader by nature, the NGRT's are LTBH because of the accounting issues and because they have done very well over a period of years. I have enough of them that the divvies plus my SSA pays our living expenses and I can sleep well at night when my trades are not always going well<ggg>.

Best to all,

JRH

P.S. Just for grins, this year I tried figuring the depletion on my own and used TurboTax to test my CPA. I was close enough on that to think about doing it myself next year to save on accounting costs. But I am probably too lazy and would rather do something else with my time.
