Cho was busted by campus police and pronounced insane. He was put in a psychiatric facility. There were all kinds of other dire warnings. Yet Cho was able to walk into any gun shop in Virginia and buy whatever he wanted. No problemo.

That is insane. That means conservatives need to wake up and joins us all in writing up new smarter, stricter gun laws, to keep the psychos from getting weapons. criminal records are not enough. Psychiatric history is actually even more important. Even criminals are not usually psycho.

Thanks for the insight counselor.

As you well know our justice system is not perfect. As you noted there are tensions between ADA issues, privacy issues and safety issues. IMO, we simply give too much deference to those who may be a danger to themselves & others.

I'm not advocating that we lock up every mentally troubled individual in response to the massacre. I do think that the threshold should be lowered so that folks on Cho's end of the scale can be more easily dealt with appropriately for their sake as well as everyone else.
