Never paid a fee in OR or WA.

There is a one time $200 transfer fee on Full Auto.

A tax would not do anything but limit the total number of guns owned by any single person and probably create a huge black market of untaxed guns. A $300 gun with a $700 yearly tax would be a really negative legal ownership motivation.

This Cho guy still would only have paid $60 tax for the short time he owned his $520 glock since he only had it a month.

Next idea please. :-)
