The potential presence of a further 100 bn barrels in the Western Desert Interesting, I though the western Sunni portion of Iraq didn't have any oil. If there is oil all over Iraq, we might as well split the country into three nations. Maybe even kick all the Iraqis out of Bagdhad, and declare the city of Bagdhad to be the new sovereign nation of Palestine. Israel can have all of the West Bank and Gaza, the Palestinians can sit between oil rich Kurdistsan, Sunnistan and Shiastan and find jobs in those three oil rich regions, and the Palestinians can have their independent nation where their terrorist factions would be too far removed from Israel to keep launching rockets, the Americans can come home, and peace finally settles in the ME. What a stroke of luck finding that western Iraq oil!
