neutralize iranian influence and give the sunnis a chance to show an alternative to violence, terror, anarchy and al quaeda. It could be a test for a saudi role in iraq as well in the sunni areas. Jordan would have been my first choice but they are a palestian state already and ruled by the hashys. They wont play but the saudis just might.

What i am getting at mike is something nadine pointed out the other day. In the irish case you had england and ireland who were both fed up with the violence and looking for a solution. Israel does not have a real country on the other side playing the role of england (or ireland). Jordan is scared of more pals. Egypt got its own problems and is not all that close geographically. Syria has lebanon and golan to fix. Only country there who could pull this off is Saudi Arabia. When i get back from my vacation next week you and i should contact the Saudi embassy and propose this idea.
