I think it is because the German perps were prosecuted, found guilty and penalties established. In the case of Islam, it was politically expedient to ignore it. Since it was ignored, like several other crimes against humanity, it must be alright. So we ignore the slaughter of the Armenians, the Serbian orthodox, and even the ongoing slaughter in darfur.
