I'm convinced the whole Christian thing of fish on fridays was started by some fishmonger who was in cohoots (sp?) with one of the early papas. The fishmonger made out like a bandit and gave a cut to the papa....who could then procure more whores for himself and the cardinals with the extra loot.....

Just a theory.....
