Fascism is more associated with the right then the left, and perhaps legitimately so. But in terms of economics it has more to do with the left then it does with laissez-faire or even the types of economic policies endorsed by most Republicans.

More importantly, and dealing with a wider area than just economics, moving to the right doesn't equal moving to fascism.

Also I think you exaggerate the extent the US has moved to the right.
