LOL, Rudi! I had the exact same experience....It was REALLY hard to cut down the amounts in our early marriage days. But I too, can cobble up something else, if we have unexpected guests. The early days were good training!

Today, I am sure your heart is as heavy as mine over the shooting rampage on the campus of Virginia Tech.

So far, based on what is being reported, 33 people have been senselessly murdered in the worst campus shooting in United States history.

But at times like this ... when faced with overwhelming circumstances and tragedy beyond our understanding ... I am reminded: what a friend we have in Jesus!

Remember the comforting words to that beautiful, old hymn? "What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry EVERYTHING to God in prayer."

In the wake of this horrible tragedy, I ask you to lift our hurting brothers and sisters on the Virginia Tech campus and the families of the victims in prayer. God is mightily at work amid our darkest hour. Pray for His hand on this situation.

Thank you for allowing me to share my heart with you. God bless you.
