Can't answer the question about CD's, but you'd think the sweep would pick up the funds.

Regarding the institutional mm's, be aware that stock dividends will be paid into cash reserves, so you'll need to subsequently transfer them yourself into the institutional fund.

John, I think you'll find CD's generally will have a higher rate than MMF's. I grabbed a few 1 years last summer from amtrust at 5.7% APR
