To be a good investor you have to look past the manipulation and crap that some people do." Nothing personal- but, that's a complete crock of shit. It just verifies how completely tunnel visioned the average trader is in his beliefs and his positions. The bugs want to paint the guy as some evil manipulator and mega bear on gold- when nothing could be further from the truth. The question is not if he's a bull, or bear in his beliefs. It's that he's one of the few that can separate his beliefs from his trading behavior. You can't pigeon hole the guy into a bear corner.I mean- how long is your memory? There are 4 phases I clearly remember about Slider and this gold cycle. 1. He was THE number one gold bull on SI at the bottom. The posts are here- go read them. I remember thinking the guy was both nuts and a little early a the time, but he was spot on. 2. He was also lone voice in the woods after gold and gold stocks cratered in what he calls 'the 100 point death march.' Half of the gold bulls here calling him a manipulator, a bear, missing the boat etc.- were the same penny-ante want-to=be's that told him he was wrong then- and puked their gold and gold stocks at the bottom and are pissed off- because he made them look like the chumps they are- period. 3. And this is the biggie! You said he doesn't post when gold is positive action? 98%- hell 100% of you here (including me) thought he had lost his %#^&*! mind when he dumped all his gold stocks that he bought when YOU sold at the bottom (don't make me go back and cut & paste all those posts (vbg) and then loaded up in Silver (he got my attention bigtime there) and Palladium and promptly smoked gold & gold stocks to the tune of 2-3 times the return that gold produced in the same time frame. 4. For the last year as that Martin Goldberg post acknowledged- gold and gold stocks have been locked into a bearish TRADING RANGE- where selling strength and buying weakness is the only thing that's worked. And guess who has led the parade on pounding the table for doing just that? Does that make him the Anti-Christ of Gold? Or, does that make him both right and profitable? You all said he was wrong on the top last May and look who's laughing now. You been in dead money for a year and the guy simply keeps posting the same damn trading range chart and telling you- THIS IS ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW AND DO- and you dumb bastards still dont get it? Everytime you get all exicited that- this is the BIG ONE (which is virtually everytime gold rallys) the guy comes on here and smacks you down and down goes gold. He was right on Silver and Palladium vs. gold. He was right on the top in May. And he's been 100% right on the trading range. And you a-holes can't stand it. Learn to seperate your trading from your beliefs- that's the greatest lesson to be learned here and no one that I've seen has done that any better than the SOB himself- SOTB. Its clear that he enjoys playing with you guys and getting inside your head. I'm sure he laughs his ass off on many occassion. I take what's useful and use it. I enjoy what's entertaining and free. And I ignore what's self-indulgent and egotistical. It's all part of the show. Sometimes it's only a trailer with a tease. Sometimes its a short and sometimes it's a serial. But, usually there's something that makes you think in a way that very little else does. Many times there's a prescient warning. Many times there's a unique insight and sometimes there's just over-the-top self-indulgence. And yes, he is posting a lot less than he used to. And when he does it's often a riddle wrapped in an enema, or an enigma (depends on which side of the trade you're on (vbg)- but, who cares? You and I aren't paying anything for it. Hell, most of us here aren't even paying for a damn SI membership! Get over it. Me, I'm just waiting for when you guys puke and fold again- and then will sit and watch him turn back into the MEGA GOLD BULL and clear the table again- as you watch. Count on it. When- not if! Ron
