people insist on thinking they are kidding, being rhetorical or something. It's a way to get out of facing reality. "Maybe God will come down and save us." I am dealing with this type of mentality on the "Center" thread right now about the value of allowing people to defend themselves. They will wiggle and squirm forever before they will face the reality that no one is going to protect you but you. They are just positive that if you hire enough police and social workers, the world will be perfectly safe. No need for guns. We will never have a better example of the "cause and effect" you are talking about than Hitler's "Mein Kampf." He told the world exactly what he was up to, took power, and did it.
