Jeff:

That appeal sounds powerful to me, though I am far from an expert. Thanks for posting.

As an aside, every time I read about the Alberto Gonzalez prosecutor firing affair I hear about how Federal prosecutors are supposed to be independent of politics, and not unduly influenced by any Administrations desires to prosecute certain types of people or crimes. Yet it has become obvious that the Elgindy trial was put on to show how well the Bush administration was clamping down on terrorism and terrorism finance cases. The Administration even listed the conviction as one of its successful terrorism convictions.

Without the political pressure Elgindy would never have been prosecuted, let alone convicted on trumped up BS - in my opinion.

I know he is not a well-liked individual, but this case has become more about justice in America than about any one individual. I hope he is exonerated or, at a minimum, re-tried in a calmer and fairer environment.

I would even testify again, if asked, because I continue to feel that justice has not been served. However, having proven what a horrendous performance I can give on the witness stand, I'm sure I will never be asked again, by anyone. I just hope that justice is served in the end.

Again, thanks for posting.

Re: 3/30/2007 - [US v ELGINDY] Brief and Special Index for Defendant-Appellant Amr I ELGINDY

So how long does an appeal like this usually take before he gets a ruling? Coming up on four months soon.....
