"I would have left the country long before that would happen."

You are making an invalid assumption, that you could leave the country before things got that far. At this very moment, Homeland Security can deny you permission to leave the country for any or no reason. And they don't have to tell you why and there is no way to appeal their decision.

The border is 150 miles to the north. There are ways to cross it illegally.......you don't have to walk through miles of desert to make it happen and I am sure Canadians will do all they can at first.......later, of course, they won't be able to for fear they will be invaded. I have already discussed this with my German friends and they will be glad to take me in and help me get on my feet.

I've checked it all out. I'm a dual major: business and political science........I know what happens when a gov't goes to the dark side. It doesn't happen overnite......there is usually a window through which one can squeak through. I am looking to opening a bank account in Vancouver. So I can do a wire transfer very quickly. I am trying to take all the precautions. I know how dangerous these times are.
