"Could it be they don't like the Bushes in Houston of all places?"

The Chronicle is very pro-business. Always has been. Other than that, they are pretty neutral.

However, Katrina and Rita sparked a shift in tone. They started getting more and more critical of the Bush administration. And the nature of the Bush administration is once you start viewing it critically, you have to become more negative. Because the only way you can be positive is to ignore all the problems.

Well, what I am finding is that once they go negative, they seem to go all the way. They have written some scathing articles about the Bush administration. At first I thought they were flukes but now they seem to be appearing in the paper on pretty regular basis. I can understand how Rita and Katrina would do it to them..........the Bush administration's screwups became up close and personal.

Speaking of Rita and Katrina, we better hope we have a hurricane season like last year given FEMA's lack of readiness.
