I would suggest you re-read my post about 50 times....Same basic one I did in 1998, but then the old adage that those that do not understand history are forced to repeat it.

Perhaps for the next few months, NOKIA, as did OJ, manage to put in another sucker punch or two and get out of going to jail for life (OJ case), but what did they gain in the end?

look at OJ. has to earn money under the table. He won, but he lost. He may take advantage of the system and play fire with it, but he lost. Everyoe knows him for the looser he is. Nobody respects him outside of his small circle of friends.

So, I will say this once again. Who the hell CARES that Nokia WANTS to pay nothing. Same thing as a lion trapped in a corner by 20 hunters. you think they CARE that the Lion WANTS to eat them?

So go back to opining how bad it may get, or how much NOKIA hates EVERYONE and takes advanatage of EVEYONE. But this is just exactly as when you have this REALLY BAD BOSS and for 5 years you TRY to tell someone just how REALLY dishonest, lying, controlling, manipulative, and stupid he is, but nobody listens and then one day the light comes on and the CEO just outright fires him on the spot? that is EXACTLY what I am talking about here. IF you just keep doing your job and wanting the company to thrive, (yea, it is a living hell for you and you suffer the embarrassment of how this guy humilaited you in puiblic), but in the end you win. At some point, the CARRIERS and HANDSET makers will get tired of the BS and take action. Or the technoolgy will move on because the bad guys won and scerwed up the biggest R&D gold mine ( and their BEST performer in terms of innovation to the WCDMA pot) they ever had for 5%. Sure NOK MAY win something, but in the end they loose. Because if they do win and they manage to dumb down the entire field with less than state of the art technology because they WON, stopped the R&D advancement engine, and became so incredibly short sighted and ego driven money focused, then there will be other much better innovations to come along and take their place.

So think about this post for a long time, blur your eyes and think about it. If the two or 3 major innovators litigate themselves into the ground, then PERHAPS LTE will never happen because they have now made everyone so jaded in entering the market that NOBODY will join the middle team and they all loose. Nobody will longer term invent anything because the courts and briberies have pushed NOBODY to get a return out of R&D investment, then nobody wll join the race. NOKIA will have done the ultimate and the worst. I learned this in MBA school awhile ago. they will have 100% of the pie and their share holders and CEO can slap the backs and drink the champagne, but then the next monring when they wake up and have to chew their arm off to get away from teh other GUY they slept with drunk, they will wake up to the fact that the 100% of nothing wiht no friends is MUCH worse than than 5% of somethign with tons of peole pushing the state of the art creating worth, and building technology systems. the CARRIERS have been sold a giant bill of goods and they are starting to push back.

So they can nullify the US patent system for their own Greed, they can buyoff as many peole around the world to win, but they are simply putting off the inevetiable. They are loosing ground and they are loosing friends. they are loosing innovation to keep ahead, and they are a closed shop.

Will Qualcomm survivie this? in WCDMA or CDMA2000? Perhaps they will have a downturn, but perhaps they will come back in LTE and UMG and others and win again, because NOK is pissing off so many people around with their take it all and piss on everyone else attitude, that NOBODY wants to work with them. This of course is JMHO and has no reflection on real facts or people anywhere as will be pointed out by those more elequent on this thread.
