I understand that in Tenet's forthcoming book; he will claim that the "slam dunk" quote did not come out of his mouth.

Tenet was bullied by Cheney-Rumsfield into drinking the Koolaid. We all know that. Tenet went along with the deliberate lies Powell told at the UN and Bush told in his State of the Union. Tenet is a disgrace and never should have received a medal of honr. So it doesn't really matter what Tenet said or didn't say, he often lied or contradicted CIA positions. The real culprits are Cheney-Bush and Rumsfield in that order. Cheney is the real heart of the evil.
