Elroy -

I didn't say that our pulling out would lead to an increase. I said, or was trying to say, anyway, that most of those who want to attack us now won't want to any less if we do pull out.

I do believe that we could change our behavior as a nation, and possibly start to reduce the motivation these people have to harm us. But as of this moment, GWB, et al have really stirred up the hornet's nest.

I am in favor of pulling out of Iraq, by the way. Leaving Iraq will probably result in at least some people no longer bearing us such ill will. Those would be the people who are chiefly pissed off because we are occupying their country.

Using your own hunches as to what may or may not happen is not all that useful, I think. I've tried to educate myself about this enemy, and to understand them at least somewhat, but I can't really claim to fully understand them, either. So at this point I'm losing interest in debating this issue with you.
