I heard a CEO of a printable phototvoltaic company on NPR yesterday ( NanoSolar? They use nanotech in their production process), and this came up first in my Google search. According to the guy on NPR, they've got flexible photovoltaic cells they can "print" like newspaper, and are just ramping into production now. He mentioned applications like roof coverings made of the stuff, etc.

An interesting factioid was that most photovoltaic solar panels, etc are MADE in the US, but SOLD overseas. The biggest market right now is Germany.

40% efficiencies? That's pretty impressive. I thought Sunpower had the highest in the industry at 20%. Eye-opening.
