Boris Yeltsin, arguably the worst European leader since WWII, dead at 76.

cnn.com

"In the course of the Yeltsin era, per capita income fell about 75 percent, and the nation's population fell by more than 2 million, due largely to the steep decline in public health."

And that doesn't even quantify the culture of corruption that Yeltsin fostered in Russia. Putin is still trying to clean up his mess.

Gingrich also says we need more guns in our classrooms, making the phony NRA argument that if enough students and teachers had guns, they could have blasted Cho before he finished his massacre.

They neglect to mention that Cho was certified insane and was able to walk into any gun shop and get a high-powered Glock immediately without any waiting period, because of the lax gun laws the NRA has fought so hard to impose on states.

The NRA's views are only shared by about 20% of the country but they get their way because no one dares to stand up against them. Time for that to change. Also, the NRA are not he-men. Real men don't need unnecessary weapons and huge guns. Only very insecure men do, probably insecure about what's not in their pants.

Asked by Charlie Rose his thoughts on the tragedy at Virginia Tech, book-touring Tom DeLay offered a jaw-dropping solution to avoiding future campus carnage (one I've heard echoed by other pistol-packing conservatives): allow students to bring concealed weapons to class with them. "We need to remove the ban of guns on the Virginia Tech campus," said DeLay, "and allow people to defend themselves." Yep, the answer to gun violence is... more guns!

That's what they are all saying. How well organized is the NRA?
