I think you are being kind to Canada.

OTOH If there was oil off Florida, and you could bring down what you need from the Saudi's to 1%, it is possible to manage the price fluctuations. I realise that oil is fungible, but if you can use less, they have a problem. Make all new homes a minimum of r2000, if you haven't already. give the Politicians the right to pay their own airfare, and you will save huge amounts of oil.
