Oooh. A DECwriter. Much nicer. ASR/KSR33s required that you stabbed your fingers down about an inch to get the key to activate. Plus, the DECwriter would move the printhead if you paused for a while so you could see what you typed. Plus,, DECwriters were really quiet compared to the 33s. And didn't smell of ozone.

And the characters had an even baseline.

Yeah, that was the modem. It was for a dedicated line, so no dialing was required. But it still used the telephone system and put out tones on the line.
