Best filter will be a heppa. If you want a good filter for whole house but not as expensive as a heppa system, I would suggest the Trane PerfectFit. It can mount right in the duct system at the furnace, where the heppa is a separate unit with a blower and is added to the duct system. The heppa filter needs it's own blower system. If there is no room for a filter mounted on/under the furnace then there are filter grille(s).
