Yeah, actually I don't know why we can't let people buy and sell any day of the week. It's not that hard to look up historical prices if I'm away during the days they want to trade. They can get the price on the close of the day they put in the request. To keep it simple, if they sell a stock they should sell all of a holding, not 'sell 20% of my BRCM', or something like.

How about if we let people buy and sell stocks any trading day based on the close the day they get the order in?

If you sell (or cover a short), you have to sell (or cover) ALL of a holding.

If you buy (or initiate a short), you specify what % of your available cash to put into the stock.

To avoid too much work for me we can limit trading by one person to a maximum of twice per month, but the person can choose their own dates. On the periods when I'm away for a week or three in a row, players can trade once only in that window, since the trades won't be entered until I return.

Most of us don't trade that much, so I don't think it's a big deal.

To tell you the truth I can't recall why we limited trading to the last day of the month in the first place.
