One of the goals of at least some prosecutions is to send a message to not to do "this".

It seems to me that one of the failures of modern medicine in the US is the under treatment of pain - "old school". So here we have the prosecutor sending a clear message, don't treat extreme pain. Let the patients suffer.

May the prosecutor* get justice:

"a twisted cue, a cloth untrue, and elliptical billiard balls..."
