We had a 45' Bayliner and my husband and I experienced 20' seas. I remember sitting in the salon and all I could see was a wall of water. Water poured in from the flybridge. I crawled to the bar, opened a bottle of Tanqueray and guzzled.
This happened in the Catalina Channel.

Time on the water does help, though. I haven't been seasick since I got my boat.
